Genotyping

The term "genotyping" can refer to several different kinds of activities:

  • Performing PCR to determine the status of one or more specific loci in the genome of cells or animals.
  • Performing Southern blotting to detect ES cell clones that carry a targeted mutation.
  • Performing PCR to determine the status of a specific SNP or other type of polymorphism.
  • Microarray analysis to determine the status of many SNPs at once.

The TMF can perform several different types of genotyping for your project. Please contact the TMF for information and advice on an appropraite genotyping assay for your project.
